What is Density?
Density is the advanced energy and electrification division of Clutch Industries, an Australian-owned, Melbourne-based engineering company founded in 1951.
What is a solid-state battery?
A solid-state battery is a battery design that Density says can deliver more power and energy in lighter, more compact packages. Density uses its application-variable solid-state battery architecture, X-SSB, to tailor each battery to its intended use.
Is Density a new company?
No. Density is an evolution of Clutch Industries, not a reinvention. It applies the same engineering and manufacturing capability, and our driveline expertise, to new industries and markets.
Who has tested Density’s technology?
Deakin University’s Battery Research and Innovation Hub has independently tested Density’s cells. We also collaborate with researchers at the University of Melbourne.
What products does Density offer?
PowerHub Nano (99Wh, RRP $299) and PowerHub Pro (2.8kWh, 2400W AC output, RRP $2999) are the first generation of PowerHub products.
Density also offers custom battery solutions for commercial and industrial customers, and additional products are planned for 2027.
Where are Density products designed and developed?
Density products are designed and developed in Australia by Clutch Industries.
