What is Clutch Industries developing for defence?
We’re developing advanced electric power systems for defence vehicles, including a lightweight electric vehicle architecture for defence and civilian applications.
Who is supporting the project?
The project is supported by the Victorian Government through its Supply Chain Uplift Program. We’re one of 11 Victorian businesses supported in this round.
Where is the project based?
The project is based in Coburg North, Victoria.
What technology powers it?
The architecture will incorporate advanced battery technology developed through our Density division. Density’s XSSB technology encompasses a range of solid-state battery architectures, allowing us to select the most suitable technology for each application based on energy density, power output, weight and performance requirements.
Is this only for defence?
No. We are developing the architecture for both defence and civilian applications.
What is Density?
Density is our advanced energy and electrification division, and a Clutch Industries brand. The name reflects high energy density: more usable energy in a smaller, lighter battery.
